Introduction Video

As I mentioned in the video, I’ll send out an e-mail each week (starting on June 7) when a new wrap-up video posts. Watch the video at your convenience after you’ve completed your lesson for the week and then join in on the discussion. If you fall behind, don’t worry about it. Just hit your pace and keep moving forward. Some people will finish in 10 weeks while others will take longer. This study will flex to summer vacations, out-of-town guests, or whatever else comes your way!

I look forward to starting our discussion later this week, but in the meantime, I’d love to know what your expectations are for our time together!

Blessings,

pam πŸ™‚

  2. Hey, Pam!
This is my first study with you AND my first online study. I live in Winnipeg and serve on staff at Bethesda Church. I look forward to this study and thanks to my friend, Patti, who told me about it. Can’t wait to see what God is going to do!

  3. Hi Pam, Thanks for your email.
My name is Jenny and i live in the UK. I Have been a believer for 7 years but have never seriously studied the bible. I have read most of it of not really studied it. This year i made a commitment to read the entire bible but have been struggling some, so when i saw this study and found that i could have support on line i was sooo excited.
i made a profession when i was 16 but it meant nothing and wasnt real. i just wanted to be in with the crowd at church and thought that it was the only way to be accepted so i played along for 25 years until i fell ill and was face to face with death and has left me disabled and unable to work. over the next year the Lord showed that his judgment was real and deserved but he also showed me his grace and mercy in forgives. and i was truly converted.
since then i have wrestled with doubts and lack of assurance and have to my shame backslden many times. But God has been faithful in bring me back every time.
At the begging of this year i made a commitment that this would be the year of change and of building a foundation and of growth. IT HAS NOT BEEN EASY.
I go to a church that is very small (20) we have no pastor and the teaching is poor. the only teaching i get is online.
I started a womens meeting at the begging of this year with the intention of doing some sort of study with them but the hunger is not there, they just want to socialize. i am praying that in time this will change.
I actually want to do this study for my own growth. Im tired of messing about and living a very shallow christian life. Im starting with the NT because it is more familiar to me in time i would love to study the OT too.

I have a question for you. Is it possible to do this study with out the book? I ask for 2 reasons.
    1) i live in the UK as i said and i haven’t been able to get it here and it would take a couple of weeks to ship it to me and i dont have a bank account (i may be able to get a friend to pay and pay her back, i dont know)

    2) money is VERY tight as i said earlier am unable to work (because of the illness in 2005)

Im realy hoping that it would be possible as im so hungry for good solid food.

    • Let me send a couple of e-mails and see what we can do! For now, download the Week One PDF and read Matthew, okay? Glad God has crossed our paths and so thrilled for your desire to grow!

  4. Hi Pam, this is my third online study with you. The online component was wonderful because I could carry you along with me on my travels. I’ve done the Sweeter Than Choocolate Romans 8 and the Psalms 119. I’ve also invited a friend to come along for the ride with me. Looking forward to learning with you and interacting with everyone online.

  5. Hi, I am so excited about this study. This is my first Cookies on the Shelf study. I hope to go back and do the other two.

    • Lisa . . . We’ll be doing Cookies 1 and 2 online after we wrap-up Cookies 3. A little backwards, I realize, but we thought it best to go with the NT first as a summer study since it fits well at this time of the year.

  6. This is my 1st online bible study. I’ve been a Precept leader since about 1989. I’m a Sunday school school teacher since I was 18 (I’m 67). I love to study God’s Word, so I’m looking forward to doing this new & different type of study. Thanks in advance! Blessings, Carolyn

  7. Pam, I received this welcome email last night! Thanks.. am excited to get started.. and learn much!! I appreciate all the time and effort you have put into making sure we all are able to learn more and deepen our walk with the Lord! I soo love your heart for God’s Word and people!

  8. I just love the flexibility of the study. I don’t feel like I have to play catch up all the time. It meets me where I am and even with limited time, I can be in God’s word and be refreshed.

  9. I am so excited for this study and looking forward to getting a survey of the new testament. I really like that we will have a chance to ask questions and interact. I am hoping my husband will also do the Bible reading with me and I am going to purchase The Word of Promise audio Bible for him to listen to. God Bless You for these online studies – it really is filling a need for me.

  10. I’m looking forward to starting (and completing!) this study……. I was a bit late in ordering my book, but I’ll catch up!

  11. I am looking forward to this “new” way of Bible study. I’ve led many PUP studies and am coordinator for our church women’s Precepts groups so am looking forward to being in a group.

  12. Pam,
I don’t know what is happening but this is loading very slowing and releasing a little bit at a time,,,very choopy…can’t listen to it this way. Help!

    • Gaye,
Do you know what your usual bandwidth is? If it is not that fast you can try starting the video then pausing. It should continue to load. Once it is loaded you should be able to view it smoothly. The problem could also be a bottleneck somewhere in the internet Try it again at another time If your computer is old and slow, though, it may just be a fact of life. BTW, my maiden name is Cochrane. Good luck.

  13. Hi Pam,
I am NEW to your studies but have ordered some of them. I just have not gotten to them yet. I lead a Precepts class of about 30 women in our church and am this Sunday finishing up the Jonah study. Covered it in 7 weeks…only get 1 hour per week to present. Our church breaks for the summer months because of summer camps, VBS, family vacations, etc., and takes back up in the Fall. Will be doing Kay’s Lord, I Want To Know You book and DVDs next. I am looking forward to digging in to this Cookie series. I already purchased Cookie 1 and just now placed a priority order for Cookies 2 & 3. I might be a little behind until the book gets here. I hope to introduce your studies to the ladies, too. Thanks for your series and may God continue to bless your work.

  14. Hello Pam! I’m looking forward to another online study with you this summer. In summers past, I’ve enjoyed your Sweeter than Chocolate series. To me, there’s nothing better (at least here in Michigan) than sitting outside while reading and reflecting on the Word. Thanks for your flexible studies. I worked through Influence last winter with my church Bible study group, which was wonderful. Now, I’m looking forward to Cookies…

  15. Looking forward to this study! Thanks for offering it, Pam! I fly out for TX June 7 for work so will be using the flexibility of the study right from the get-go!!

  16. Hi Pam,
Feeling like I’m greeting an “Old Friend” when I say Hi. This is my 2nd online study with you.
I didn’t think I’d enjoy this type of study but did so enjoy Influence. Our church has spent last few months going through the Old Testament, 1 book per week, we’re on Micah this week and so this NT study fit right in. I feel like I’m getting a good big picture overview of whole bible.
We have some traveling to do til end of June so know it may be a little difficult to keep up til then, but will try and I so appreciate the flexibleness, (hope that’s a word) of this type of study.
Also have led studies Precepts, for past few years so this is my time to just do, and enjoy.
Thanks for the opportunity and looking forward to getting with it. Getting to “Know the Lord” is the priority in my life, and “going deeper” has been such a pleasure.

  17. Pam – I’m looking forward to enhancing two studies I’m already a part of. I’m in a Precepts class Thursday, we’re studying Matthew Part I. My Sunday morning class is using Precepts material to cover Revelation. Our Precepts class worked through “Sweeter Than Chocolate”, so I’m really looking forward to taking this journey with you, my husband and the rest of the Body here. Take care πŸ™‚

    • Hi Ann . . . I’ll make sure to post the discussion questions in the text of the blog. If you email me, let me see what I can do about sending you the video content in written form. πŸ™‚

  18. Thanks, Pam! I look forward to all that God has to teach us this summer. By the way, I couldn’t agree more about times of growth during small group settings. Part of the foundation that God has laid in my life has been through the investments wise women took the time to make in my life. As a older woman now, I am endeavoring to do the same at this season of my life!
    Patti

      • I would love to bring along a few friends for the ride! I thought that the course might not be challenging enough but I’ve already had to skip a few questions………………. LOL! I expect to learn a lot.

          • Pam, my name is Tara and I am really looking forward to this study. I have never done an online study before. So I’m excited to get started. I have done many precept studies and have lead some studies in Kays lord series. And I am going to find a friend or two who might join me in this new testament study. Blessings!
